Larger jobs require more help and larger budgets. There are the big names in moving but sometimes smaller movers will do a quality job for less. Usually they offer a free estimate. Once you have the estimate, ask your local truck rental dealer for a price to compare a do it yourself move instead, then you decide.

Hints: rental trucks (like RYDER and U-Haul), are 6’ to 8’ wide and about 6’ to 8’ tall. Storage rooms are 8’ to 12’ tall. Compare your truck and storage unit sizes. You can use a room shorter than your truck (provided you only had one load), because you can stack higher if you wish. Remember the change of address cards at the Post Office. Tell the utility companies to turn your services off on your moving date evening or next morning. You’ll need lights, phones, etc. to move and to clean up afterwards.
